The Summer

The summer hear has been awful weather wise but the last 2 weeks have been acceptable.I think the kids have had a decent time and we have enjoyed our stay.
I'm sad to say that I have forgotten all about my camera and have taken few pictures.

I did take a couple lately which are shown below.

Granny took the kids to the water park.

Ice cream is always a hit.

Julie is here too but she is too big for the water park now.

Back

So the kids all arrived and things are well.
They have been shopping and going to the pool.
The water park has been closed because we have been having some decent weather for at least part of most days.
I seem to have forgotten that I own a camera so have not taken any pictures.

I have been working on the bus,cleaning,polishing and re-organizing and packing.

The paper work is all done and Peggy's business is sold.No more pay checks!

We have also sold the condo,subject to financing.

Just the house left.We will be listing it again right away.

Trying

We are trying to stay up beat even though it rains every day.The sun does shine almost every day and it is great when we can see it.We just don't see it enough.
We have our house in Whitecourt for sale but no one is buying it.
We have our Condo in St. Albert for sale but no one is buying it.
Haven't got my boat running yet as waiting for parts.
Got my quad running though,just had to rebuild the starter.

Chris is here for a short visit but is leaving today.
Non of the other kids are coming up for the long weekend so it should be a quiet one.

I think it's good that we have the quiet time as all hell will break loose next week when 4 Grandkids will be attacking.We are having them for a couple of weeks then driving the 2 from Ontario home with us in the Bus.

I'm sure hoping for good weather for the kids.

Things are looking up

Sunday was gorgeous and Monday was also, until we got to the Tee Box on the 18th hole.Then it dumped on us.
Peg and Debby took off to the clubhouse but John and I finished the hole.
Twas nice to get golfing again but it's hard to swallow Canadian prices.

Yesterday=only 5 months till Christmas.Yea!

TOTAL BULL SHIT

I'M TALKING ABOUT THE WEATHER.

This is the worst weather I have ever encountered for this time of year in my life.

We had a couple of days of sun but other than that we have not had any summer yet.

Just because we have the OIL! Oil=bad weather,crap.
The rest of the country is having a heat wave and we are raining shit.
I'm pissed.

Oh ya it went down to 7C/45F last night.
This is supposed to be our summer.
Summer my Ass.

The Weather

I am not going to say anything about the weather other than it totally sucks!

Bad weather does funny things to people and most are grumpy.

We also had the Worlds Jet Boat Marathon here in Whitecourt this weekend.

Due to the bad weather some of the racing was cancelled and they made a run up The McCleod in front of our place.

The Royals

It was 4am Tuesday and Peg was up.

Yup! Peg was up.

She was getting ready cause Wendy and Beth were picking her up so they could head off to Slave Lake to see the Royals,Will and Kate.

When I think of Royals I think of Crown Royal(regular or black),but you know these women?

So they were there waiting at 7am and the royals arrived at 12 something.the good news is they took lawn chairs.They got front row and got to shake both of their hands and apparently Peggy wacked the prince on the arm with her magazine.Beth gave him a big pink stuffed pig.

These women will not win any awards for Photography.Not only is there no pics of Kate,the above pic was emailed to them by someone else and the pic of Will has his head chopped off.(I think they were too star crazed at the time)

I recorded CTV news and CBC news and did not see the 3 groupies  but when they got home we saw Peg talking to Will on Global news.Go figure.

The weather has been nice but storms arriving late in the afternoon.Last night we had a horrible thunder and lightning storm with hail the size of golf balls,or maybe just the size of a large pea.I have not gone out to see if they damaged any vehicles yet cause I might dissolve in the rain.Maybe I should just go out till I dissolve about 40 lbs.

We are suppose to golf with Deb and John this afternoon but I don't think that will be happening.

Whitecourt

We are back at Whitecourt where we are nestled in the trees,hoping that none of them fall on us like one did to my truck a few tears back.
The house is still here as no one has bought it yet.

The kids have their trailers all here down by the river.

Speaking of the river!
It's a lot higher this year than we have ever seen it.

Cooked a beer butt chicken,first in a while

Some of the kids went for a quad ride.

Some just sat around the fire.

It is just great that we have some decent weather for a change.

Family

We did get the new wheel seal then went to Calgary to get some past due warranty work done at the dealership then back here to St. Albert.

Chris was passing through town so he stayed at the campground for a couple of nights.

Peg decided she wanted a get together but with the unpredictable weather we had a BBQ at Wendy's house rather than at the coach.

Jeff had some news for us: the shit head won a new Harley.He didn't have it with him cause it was just delivered and not insured yet.I guess he was at a Quad rally and bought a burger and a ticket for $20.00.
Lucky Bastard.

Jodi and Dean were there too.Dean did not win a Harley but he already has one.

Then there were "the fancies",They went to a wedding.











The weather did hold out so the BBQ was a success and there were no family feuds.
We are just trying to get things settled so we can head to Whitecourt for the long weekend.
Note that we have also had a couple of great days of weather.Wow!

Footnote

The good news is we did not have to pay the bill for the tow trucks.

The Kinsmen Club of St. Albert paid but I think they are submitting it to The City of St. Albert.

What a Country.

We also had a day of sunshine and warmth but here we are back to crappy weather again.The weather around here totally sucks.

Still Kicking

Yup,we are still kicking and still in St. Albert.
Supposed to go to Whitecourt this weekend but that's not going to happen.

I had to take the bus into get a new wheel seal installed(warranty) on Wed.

 After seeing my neighbour get stuck trying to get out of his spot in the campground on Tuesday,I decided to try and move our rig.

Big Mistake

As soon as I moved the coach 1 ft the front tires buried in the mud and gravel.

The tow truck that pulled out the 5r and truck said he would not touch it and said call cliff's Towing.

So along comes Cliff's.

This guy spent 1/2 hr on the phone and decided he should call a bigger truck.

A bigger truck.

This guy sees that the front end is sitting on the ground and there is no way of getting under it and no way of towing it.

They have air bags to lift it but there is no way of getting the air bags under it.

He decides to call another big truck.

So now we have 2  Trucks

We also have some ingenuity. 

One truck on either side with a strop through a wheel hole held in place by a piece of metal(looked like a wrist pin out of a large engine.

They are positioned ahead of the coach and now they lift,while I keep my foot on the brake.

After they lift the front,they fill in the holes.

I slowly release the brake and we roll forward.

Once we have cleared the front tires of the soft stuff,they lower me and I drive it out.
